Campus Ministry

Catholic Retreats

A retreat is essential for growth in our relationship with God, as we set aside our daily tasks to spend time in prayer, while setting spiritual goals as the school year progresses.

The Bishop Ireton retreat program is set up to aid a student's growth in faith over four years of their high school education. Every student is required to make a class retreat annually, and the other retreats are highly recommended.

List of 4 items.

  • Freshman Retreat

The Freshman Retreat is led by the student Salesian Leadership Team who have been trained in the spirituality of St. Francis De Sales and how to share that spirituality through leadership.
  • Sophomore Retreat

The Sophomore Retreat is a one-day, service-based retreat that takes place off-campus through advisory. This retreat focuses on strengthening the student's relationship with Christ through service to those in need.
  • Junior Retreat

A one-night retreat where students encounter Christ in the sacraments and prepare for future leadership roles. NOTE: all juniors *must* attend one overnight retreat of their choice, depending on availability. Kairos, Camden, and Bethany suffice for this requirement.
  • Senior Retreat

The Senior Retreat is a one-day retreat focused on making the spiritual transition to college.

Kairos Retreat

Kairos is a four-day student-led retreat for juniors and seniors where students grow in their knowledge and love of God and how they can build up the faith in the Bishop Ireton community.  Many students express that this retreat was a highlight of their four years at Bishop Ireton, and that it changed their lives in a profound way. Kairos retreats are held at three different times throughout the year.

Bethany Retreat

Bethany is a retreat with the other Diocesan high schools (St. Paul VI, Bishop O'Connell and St. John Paul the Great). The retreat aims to form missionary disciples and leaders through the lessons of Jesus at Bethany with his beloved friends.
